Solventless CBD, derived from hemp, is gaining in popularity as one of the cleanest natural remedy for various conditions in both humans and animals. It interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for regulating stress and anxiety responses. Unlike its cousin compound, THC, CBD does not produce psychoactive effects or make pets feel "high." Instead, it promotes relaxation and a sense of calm, making it an ideal option for soothing senior pets during stressful situations.
Consulting with a Veterinarian: Before introducing any new supplement or treatment to your pet's routine, it is crucial to consult with your veterinarian. They can assess your pet's individual needs and provide guidance on appropriate dosages and potential interactions with existing medications. When it comes to selecting a CBD product, you should consider it to only be Solventless extracted and it is essential to choose a high-quality brand that prioritizes purity and safety. Brands like VetsGrade are known for their commitment to producing reliable and trustworthy CBD products specifically formulated for pets.
Suggested Use: When administering solventless CBD to your senior pet, it's best to start with a low dose and gradually increase it as needed. Your veterinarian can help determine the appropriate dosage based on your pet's weight and specific circumstances. CBD is available in various forms, including tinctures, treats, and topical applications. Choose the form that is most suitable for your pet's preferences and needs.
Timing and Environment: To maximize the effectiveness of solventless CBD, it's important to give it to your pet before the stressful event, such as fireworks or thunderstorms. This allows the CBD to take effect before the anxiety-inducing triggers occur. Creating a calm and safe environment for your senior pet during these events is also essential. Set up a comfortable space with familiar toys, blankets, and soothing music to help them feel secure and at ease.
The Advantage of Solventless CBD: One of the advantages of solventless CBD is its high bioavailability. This means that it is efficiently absorbed by the body, allowing for quicker and more pronounced effects. The higher bioavailability of solventless CBD ensures that your senior pet receives the maximum benefit and relief from anxiety during stressful occasions.
If you have a senior pet who struggles with anxiety during events like the Fourth of July, solventless CBD can be a valuable tool in helping them stay calm and comfortable. However, it is crucial to consult with your veterinarian before introducing any new supplements into your pet's routine. They can provide personalized guidance based on your pet's specific needs and circumstances. With the right approach and the use of high-quality Solventless CBD products, you can provide the comfort and support your senior pet deserves during stressful times.

As the popularity of CBD for pets continues to grow, it’s important to know the different types of CBD products out in the market and which ones are best for your pet.Three main types of CBD products for pets are full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate. In this blog post, we will explain the difference between these types of CBD and which one may be best suited for different pets.
Full-Spectrum CBD
Full-spectrum CBD products are made with whole-plant extracts that contain all the naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in the hemp plant, and may sometimes include THC. The presence of THC in full-spectrum CBD products is limited to a legal amount of 0.3% or less.
The combination of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids in full-spectrum CBD products is known as the "entourage effect." This means that these compounds work together to enhance each other's therapeutic effects.
Full-spectrum CBD is best suited for pets with chronic or severe conditions, such as anxiety or chronic pain. The presence of THC in full-spectrum CBD may provide additional pain relief and anti-inflammatory benefits, making it a good option for pets with arthritis or other inflammatory conditions.
Broad-Spectrum CBD
Broad-spectrum CBD products are similar to full-spectrum CBD products in that they contain a variety of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. However, unlike full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD products do not contain THC.
Broad-spectrum CBD is best suited for pets with mild to moderate conditions, such as mild anxiety or occasional pain. It may also be a good option for pets who have had negative reactions to full-spectrum CBD products.
Isolate CBD
Isolate CBD products are made with pure CBD extract and do not contain any other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids. This means that they do not provide the entourage effect benefits of full-spectrum CBD products. Isolate CBD is best suited for pets with very mild conditions or as a supplement to a full-spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD product.
Which Type of CBD is Right for Your Pet?
At VetsGrade, we believe in using only the highest quality ingredients to create our CBD products for pets. That's why all of our products are made with solventless full-spectrum CBD. As previously discussed, full-spectrum CBD contains a wide range of beneficial compounds found in the hemp plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. By using full-spectrum CBD, we can provide pets with a more comprehensive and effective CBD experience.
When pets consume full-spectrum CBD, they are getting the benefits of not just CBD, but all of the other compounds found in the plant. This can result in a more well-rounded and effective CBD experience for pets, as all of the compounds work together to support overall health and wellness. In addition, full-spectrum CBD is believed to be more effective at lower doses than CBD isolate, making it a cost-effective option for pet owners.
Whether you choose a full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, or isolate CBD product, remember to always choose a high-quality product and consult with your veterinarian before use.

How does CBD work? Let's get technical!
CBD works by interacting with receptors in the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is found in all mammals, including pets. In this post, we will explore how CBD works in pets, including its interaction with the CB1 and CB2 receptors.
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex network of receptors and neurotransmitters that regulate a variety of physiological processes, including mood, appetite, pain sensation, and inflammation. The ECS consists of three main components: endocannabinoids (the body's own cannabinoids), receptors, and enzymes that break down endocannabinoids.
CB1 and CB2 receptors are the two primary receptors of the ECS. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and nervous system, while CB2 receptors are predominantly found in immune cells, the gastrointestinal tract, and the peripheral nervous system.
When CBD is consumed, it interacts with the CB1 and CB2 receptors, although it does not bind directly to them. Instead, CBD modulates the activity of these receptors and helps to regulate the physiological processes controlled by the ECS.
CBD's interaction with the CB1 receptor can help to reduce anxiety, as well as alleviate pain and inflammation. This is because the CB1 receptor is involved in regulating mood, pain, and appetite. CBD has also been shown to increase the levels of the body's own endocannabinoids, which can help to further regulate these processes.
CBD's interaction with the CB2 receptor can help to reduce inflammation and pain. The CB2 receptor is primarily found in immune cells, and its activation can help to reduce inflammation and the associated pain. CBD has been shown to activate the CB2 receptor, which may help to reduce inflammation in pets with conditions such as arthritis or autoimmune disorders.
In addition to its interactions with the CB1 and CB2 receptors, CBD also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This can help to protect the body's cells from damage caused by oxidative stress, and reduce inflammation throughout the body.
CBD has been shown to be safe and well-tolerated in pets, with few reported side effects. However, it is important to note that CBD can interact with other medications your pet may be taking, so it is important to consult with your veterinarian before giving your pet CBD.
In conclusion, CBD works in pets by interacting with the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system. CBD can help to reduce anxiety, pain, and inflammation in pets, and may provide a safe and natural alternative to traditional medications. If you are considering giving your pet CBD, it is important to consult with your veterinarian to ensure that it is safe and appropriate for your pet's individual needs.
